No matter how much poison they try to feed us, people’s culture rises like fresh water from a spring

(Supplied. Well over 100 attended the opening night of the Third Iranian Music Festival in Sydney. It celebrated beauty and cultural strength of the people in the face of horrific bombardment by Zionism and US imperialism. Zela Margossian Quintet played her composition, 'Ceasefire'. It is an antidote to the poison parading as culture, under US imperialist domination in Australia..)
As Trump and Hegseth glory in inflicting war and mass deaths, minus the so-called civilising ‘rules of engagement’, radio ‘personality’ Kyle Sandilands personifies how low imperialist culture can go.
Capitalists treasure profit, and potential profit above all. A $200 million contract over ten years for Sandilands and his partner Jackie O (Jackie Henderson) shows how valuable mass human degradation and abuse, especially against women, has become for the ruling class.
Finally, even this massive contract was not enough to keep Henderson subservient to this toad, Sandilands.
In the week of International Working Women’s Day, it’s a small win to celebrate.
We hope we never have to hear or see him advertised again. But money and power always talk loudest, so victory will likely be shortlived.
For decades money and power silenced action against the “alleged” paedophilia of Alan Jones. Even now, he’s not in jail. For this most vile “allegation”, he’s on bail in his penthouse immediately overlooking the Opera House and Sydney Harbour. Even invited to lunch in NSW Parliament House.
But back to Sandilands. His tirade was belittling not just to his co-host, but to all women. Yet sadly it’s by no means his worst.
Repeated again from 2024, Media Watch this week replayed the most disgustingly sexist on-air behaviour this writer has ever heard. And Jackie Henderson was complicit. Sandilands described how some of the “girls” – his female co-workers – allegedly filmed themselves urinating so others could participate in a guessing game about which labia belonged to which woman. Henderson laughed and agreed. Imagine being their female co-workers, publicly humiliated before family and friends. Normalising abuse among male listeners. No wonder such appalling things spew forth in online postings against women who speak out against sexism, war and violence! https://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/episodes/kyle/104329196
Then there’s the Zionist NSW Premier Chris Minns. Like the frequent politicians and prime ministers who paid homage to Alan Jones with weekly interviews at his throne, Minns paid his tribute in regular appearances on Sandilands and Henderson’s show, even attending Sandilands’ 2023 wedding.
Minns stated publicly, ‘It’s sad that these shows wind up,’ that he’d been Sandilands’ friend ‘for years’. What an insult to all women. https://www.kyfreepress.com.au/aap-entertainment/show-must-go-on-host-addresses-kyle-jackie-o-split/
On International Working Women’s Day, many think of mothers protecting their children in the most awful circumstances. And I think of my mother, a most extraordinary ‘ordinary’ woman, like so many others.
‘Mongrel’ was the worst label my mother ever used to describe a man. I only heard it once. I’d use it to describe Minns and Sandilands. But I like dogs, including mixed-breed ‘mongrels’, too much to insult them.
Thankfully, a rich and vibrant culture that celebrates women and all human life grows strongly among the people.
